On March 15, a member of the school community at Roblin Elementary School informed us that they have tested positive for COVID-19. More information will be provided as it becomes available from Public Health. For further details, please click on the link. This information has been sent via email to RES families - please check your accounts, including your junk folders.

(To unsubscribe, find a text message from the division and reply STOP.) Cancellations will continue to be posted on the MVSD website and announced via radio.

Join us for the MVSD Virtual Public Budget Forum on Monday, March 1st at 7:00 PM via Zoom! Manitoba Education, in collaboration with public health officials, has prepared a Back to School Poster – Help Keep Our Schools Safe, which reminds us all to follow the fundamentals of health to reduce the risk of COVID-19 entering and being transmitted in our schools. Please note that effective January 29, 2021, provincial public health orders will be amended to specify that anyone entering Manitoba from anywhere in Canada will be required to self-isolate for 14 days. More information about the order and how it may impact MVSD families and students may be found by clicking on the above link.

Congratulations to Sawyer Elliott from Grandview School, who has been nominated by the MVSD Board of Trustees to be considered for the 2021 Manitoba School Boards Association (MSBA) Student Citizenship Award. Sawyer was one of several students in MVSD who submitted applications for nomination, and we are proud to acknowledge these students' contributions to their communities and schools. The Board of Trustees would like to officially recognize the dedication and commitment of all its employees to the students of Mountain View School Division by declaring the week of February 8 to 12, 2021, inclusive, as Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week throughout the various work places in the division. Please read the letter attached from the school with respect to a suspicious person incident on January 26, 2021. Staff addressed safe practices with students, increased supervision and asked RCMP to increase patrol during the school day. Please contact the school administrators with any questions or concerns.
